?Nourish your brain and it will serve you well.

? The brain is made up of about 60% fat and about half of that is omega 3 which cannot be made in the body. This is why this fat is called essential. Its found in oily fish, avocados, nuts, seeds and olive oil, is essential. They may even help ward off Alzheimer’s.

? Nuts have been shown to help with memory and walnuts contain the most omega 3! Maybe that’s why they look like mini brains!

? Good coffee ( in moderation) and green tea are full of antioxidants that can help support brain health. It’s also linked to reduced Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s risk.

? Blueberries are full of antioxidants that support brain cells, helping improve memory and cognition.

? Broccoli isa miracle vegetable and one to try to focus on including in your diet each week. It’s full of fat soluble vitamin K which helps form a highly beneficial fat in the brain.

? 70% (plus) dark chocolate contains flavonoids that help support memory and slow cognitive decline. YAY!!

? Eggs contain choline that helps mood and memory. They may also help slow the onset of dementia and Alzheimer’s.

? Whole grains, such as oats, barley, and quinoa are rich in many of the B vitamins that work to reduce inflammation of the brain, potentially preserving your memory.

Good nutrition is key to a happy brain so if you are struggling with low mood, brain fog, memory loss, lack of concentration, anxiety, sleep issues, night sweats and hot flushes (yes these have links to the thermo-regulatory system in the brain), headaches and migraines or you are concerned about your cognitive health for the future, why not book a 15 mins free call and we can discuss your concerns and try to find a way forward.
