Functional Testing
When you come to see me for the first time, I will discuss what’s brought you to me, and what you’d like to change. Based on that, I will recommend a plan of action which may include a test or a series of tests to get to the root cause of your symptoms.
Functional testing can help get us to the root cause of your symptoms quicker, which can be a huge relief if you have been suffering for a long time or have debilitating symptoms. I partner with world leading private laboratories that use cutting edge technology to give you incredible insights into your health, far surpassing other standardised tests. Most of these tests can be done in the comfort of your own home and at your convenience.
Why Test?
- It takes the guess work out which speeds up the process of getting you on the best plan suited to your unique requirements.
- It can fast track your results.
- It enables us to have a benchmark against which we can track your progress.
- It gives you hard evidence of what is happening. It turns opinion in to fact and I find this really helps motivate clients to stick to a plan.
Some of the tests I offer:
Hormone Rebalancing Test
This test can identify the root causes of hormone imbalances. This test offers an extremely comprehensive overview on hormone levels and how hormones are broken down. It looks at whether:
• you have oestrogen dominance (PMS, painful periods, endometriosis)
• you are ovulating
• your liver is clearing excess oestrogen (breast, ovarian and uterine cancer risk)
• you are low in key nutrients B12, B6 and glutathione – the body’s most important antioxidant
• your neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and dopamine are having an impact on your mood and sleep.
• your melatonin levels are impacting your sleep.
• you have increased testosterone (PCOS, oily skin, acne, infertility, excess body hair)
• you have imbalanced stress hormones
Who is this test for?
Anyone suffering with menopause, PCOS, weight gain, fatigue, low libido, premenstrual syndrome, mood swings, sleep issues, mood disorders and prostate issues in men. Additionally, the test can be used to gather baseline measurements for the administration and monitoring of hormone replacement therapy.
Ultimate Performance Blood Test
This test looks at 56 different markers including:
• HS-CRP for inflammation
• Active B12, folate and vitamin D
• Liver health
• Kidney health
• Gout risk
• Blood sugar status
• Full iron status (you rarely get this on the NHS)
• Red and white blood cells
• Cholesterol status
• Full thyroid panel (you can’t get this on the NHS)
• Adrenal hormones
• FSH, LH, prolactin
• Sex hormones-Testosterone and oestrogen
Functional DX Female Blood Tests
(for an even more in-depth female panel).
For the world’s most advanced blood interpretation technology. Functional DX tests are more accurate, more accessible and the single most comprehensive blood analysis on the market today. They give us unparalleled, incredibly in-depth information that is intricately interpreted to find links and patterns for overall function and health optimisation. The Femme range starts with minimum of 95 markers and provides a detailed, easy to read report. Their Thyroid range is also extremely in-depth linking all aspects of thyroid testing to give an incredible overall picture.

Who are these blood tests for?
Anyone, but especially those with neurological concerns (headaches, concentration), cardiovascular concerns (high blood pressure, high cholesterol), thyroid conditions (hair loss, fatigue, weight gain, sleep issues), adrenal stress (early hours insomnia, burnout, energy issues), metabolic issues (weight gain, blood sugar dysregulation), skin conditions (dermatitis, psoriasis), inflammation.
Digestive Health Stool Test
I use an extremely comprehensive microbiome stool test to provide a comprehensive assessment of complete gut health, assessing the root cause of most GI complaints. A combination of PCR, culture, and microscopic testing methods ensures any and all relevant organisms are identified. It looks at 3 key functions to assess:
- Digestion and absorption- 3 markers including protein and fat breakdown and pancreatic function.
- Inflammation and immune function- 4 main markers including SIgA, occult blood, calprotectin and allergy markers)
- Gut microbiome- 6 main markers including gut bacteria balance, methane scores, short chain fatty acids, beta-glucuronidase for oestrogen metabolism, yeast overgrowth (e.g. Candida) and parasites.

Who is this test for?
Anyone with any digestive disorder including IBS/IBD, bloating, wind, abdominal cramps, acid reflux, weight issues, skin issues, fatigue, aching joints, hormone imbalances, food sensitivities, constipation, diarrhoea, indigestion, nutritional deficiencies and any inflammatory bowel condition.
Hair Tissues Mineral Analysis
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
Working with the worlds most renowned hair tissue mineral analysis facility in the USA, this non-invasive test uses a small hair sample to measure the body’s mineral and toxic metal levels and ratios. This can provide valuable insights into potential nutrient deficiencies, toxic metal exposure, and imbalances in the body.
Minerals are essential for growth, healing, vitality and wellbeing. Deficiencies, imbalances and toxin accumulation can impact the cardio-vascular, gastro-intestinal, musculo-skeletal, neurological, immune and endocrine (hormonal) systems.
Heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic can accumulate in the body over time and have detrimental effects on your health, causing inflammation, microbiome imbalances, fatigue, brain fog and reduced energy levels.
Hair has the unique ability to concentrate toxic heavy metals and essential minerals which can make it a useful screening tool to help identify potential pathways towards a disease state as well as helping support any deficiencies, imbalances and/or toxicities.

Personalised DNA Testing
DNA testing is the great way to discover exactly how your body responds to nutrients at a cellular level. Knowing if you are predisposed to certain food intolerances, inflammation, or an inability to absorb certain nutrients or detoxify toxins and hormones can be a real game changer to so many health problems, including weight and sleep issues, hormone imbalances, skin issues, digestive issues and much more.
Your DNA never changes so you will only ever need one DNA test. The results enable me to design you a targeted and personalised nutrient, supplement and lifestyle plan based on your unique genetics.
DNA tests only take a minute to do (a quick cheek swab) and are not impacted by HRT, contraceptives, pregnancy, nutritional supplements, exercise or any other environmental factors.
These are the main ones I use to understand how your genes work, and pinpoint how I can support you.
The Nutrient core report – Analyses how gene variants (SNPs) affect:
• Food response, namely lactose and gluten intolerances
• Response to caffeine
• Microbiome diversity
• Appetite control and blood sugar balance
• Vitamin and mineral absorption, conversion and activation
• Susceptibility to inflammation and infection
• Circadian rhythm (sleep)
• Blood pressure
